It's All About Me

My name is Richard, and I am 12 years old. I love science, asking weird questions- like what would happen if gravity suddenly doubled? or could birds ever fly underwater?, technology, music ( I play the piano)  maths and blowing the house up  making friends! Also, I am currently doing a fundraiser for my school where I raise £1000 for my school for science books at my school library. My hobbies include model rocketry, building things out of cardboard (and sometimes other things as well), coming up with weird scenarios that might just be possible, playing the piano and cricket.

It all started when I was 18 months (about 548 days) old and my first word was ‘radiator’. From then on, my passion for science and engineering just kept getting bigger and bigger. At 4 and a half years old, I disassembled a landline telephone to it’s limits, and then put it back together. It worked! I also invented a ‘special machine’ as well, which was an imaginary automatic truck-like machine made of concrete, was made of multiple sections and had the ability to do virtually anything.

This site is where I post my science articles. They’re based on real questions I’ve thought about, mixed with real science, imagination, and a bit of fun. My goal is to inspire other kids (and grown-ups too) to wonder, ask big questions, and enjoy thinking for themselves.

Thanks for being here—hope you find something that makes you say, “Whoa, I never thought of that!”
